rtam:  

The first abstract notion of all human thought with meaning: order, truth, universal law.

It has the force of a moral obligation of universal importance, since it's derived from the root "r" - to move.

rta:

In literal translation, represents the correct course of things. This concept must had been originally imposed by the regularity of the Sun and Moon movement, as well as day, night and season changes. Rta signifies the world order. Everything that is created has rta as its background principle. The world of experiences is a shadow or reflection of rta, a constant reality that remains unchanged within the ocean of change. The Sun is rtam. The Sun is architecture.
